Ran into my old math teacher at Central Market yesterday and it messed with my head

I was grabbing a coffee near the deli section and saw Mr. Patterson, my 10th grade algebra teacher. He asked what I do now and I told him real estate. He said "you know, you were always better at the people side of math than the numbers." That stuck with me because I spent the whole year thinking I was bad at math, but he was right. I just needed a different way to use it. Has anyone else had a teacher say something that clicked way later?

Honestly, "better at the people side of math than the numbers" is a pretty good way to put it. I read something once about how most math struggles aren't about not getting numbers, it's just not clicking in the right context for you. Sounds like yours did when it mattered.

Context matters, but sometimes numbers just aren't someone's thing.
