Shoutout to the guy at the Bothell Landing dog park who dropped this gem about Bothell history
I was sitting on the bench by the river last Saturday with my lab when this older guy in a faded Sonic's sweatshirt sat down and started chatting. When I said I just moved here 8 months ago he got this big grin and told me that the building where McMenamins is now used to be a real movie theater back in the day. He grew up off 102nd and started rattling off which streets used to be dirt roads, like he was drawing me a map from memory. I've driven past that corner a hundred times and never once wondered what was there before, so now I keep bugging him for more stories every time I see him. Does anyone know if there's a book or a Facebook group with old Bothell photos like that?
