The Main Street coffee shop changed my whole morning routine last week

I always stopped at the old espresso stand on 101st for my morning cup. Last Thursday I walked over to that new place by the post office because I was running late. They charged me $7.50 for a plain latte and it took 12 minutes to get it. The coffee was lukewarm and the barista didn't even ask how my day was going. Has anyone else been disappointed by the changes happening to our local shops?

Yeah I read that buyout article too, heard it's happening all over town now.

Did anyone see that article in the local paper last week about how these new chain coffee shops are buying up all the old spots? I heard the owner of the place on 101st got a buyout offer he couldn't refuse. It sucks because those little stands had charm and the baristas actually talked to you. Now you get a lukewarm drink from someone who looks like they'd rather be anywhere else. You'd think for $7.50 they could at least heat it up right, not serve it like they just pulled it off the shelf. I miss the old days when a cup of coffee felt like part of the neighborhood.
