Hostel breakfast trick: I stopped paying for lunch without trying
I stayed at a hostel in Lisbon for 5 nights and noticed they put out hard-boiled eggs and bread every morning. Out of curiosity I grabbed two extra eggs and a roll, wrapped them in a napkin, and had a full lunch later that day. Turns out I spent zero on food for 3 days straight, only buying dinner. The hostel staff never said a word, but I felt weird at first, then it just felt normal. Has anyone else used hostel breakfast spreads to skip a meal cost, or is that crossing a line?

Wait, you ate the same eggs and bread for 3 straight days? Those eggs must have been rubbery by day two. I tried that once in Barcelona and the bread got soggy as hell in my bag, not to mention the smell in my locker. Respect for pulling it off, but I would have cracked by lunch on day one and bought a kebab.
