Just tried booking a flight to Lisbon two different ways

I checked the price for a round trip on one airline's site and it was $780. Then I looked at the same dates but booked two one-way tickets on different budget carriers, and the total was $520. Saved over $250 just by splitting it up. Anyone know other cities where this trick works well?

Convenience store food is seriously underrated in Tokyo. I saved a ton by grabbing onigiri and sandwiches from 7-Eleven or FamilyMart for breakfast and lunch instead of sitting down at cafes. Plus a lot of the smaller ramen shops do lunch specials that are half the price of dinner.
