My hostel in Prague overbooked and left me with nowhere to sleep at 10 PM
I got to the front desk after a long train ride from Berlin, and the guy just shrugged and said 'Sorry, we are full.' My reservation confirmation was right there on my phone. He offered a refund but zero help. I had about 80 euros left for the week, so a last-minute hotel was out. I ended up walking to the train station, buying a 12 euro ticket for a night train to Vienna that left in an hour, and slept sitting up. It got me to a new city by morning where I found a cheaper bed. Has anyone else been totally stranded like that? What did you do?

Wow, that's some next level travel chaos. At least you turned a hostel screw-up into a cheap, if awful, night train adventure. The front desk guy shrugging is the perfect cherry on top.

That night train ticket was probably more than 12 euros, just so you know. The basic fare from Prague to Vienna is closer to 30, even for a seat. Maybe you got a last minute deal or a youth discount. Still, turning a hostel mess into a plan like that was smart. Sleeping sitting up is brutal, but it beats a bench in the station.
