My uncle swore by booking flights on Tuesdays at 2am - took me 3 years to test it out

He claimed airlines drop prices early Tuesday morning and nobody is shopping then. I finally set an alarm last week for a trip to Austin and got a round trip for $198 instead of the $320 I'd been watching. Anyone else have a random time or day theory that actually paid off or totally flopped?

Always thought that whole Tuesday at 2am thing was just people repeating old travel myths. But my buddy convinced me to try booking a flight to Denver on a Wednesday night around 11pm and I saved like $80 compared to what I saw earlier that same day. It felt ridiculous sitting there in the dark refreshing the page, but the price dropped right when he said it would. Now I set a reminder every time I need to buy a ticket just to check those late night slots.

Got my ass up at 1am last Thursday to test this exact theory and ended up booking a flight to Portland for like half the price I'd been seeing. Felt like some kind of secret agent doing it but hey, money saved is money saved, right? Still haven't convinced my wife though, she thinks I'm nuts.
