PSA: Check local bus apps before you book, got burned in Lisbon

Flew into Lisbon last Tuesday and figured the 24 hour transit pass on the official app was the deal. Paid 6.50 euros, then the driver at the airport stop told me that app only works for the metro, not the buses. Had to buy another 6.50 ticket on the spot, and the bus schedule on the app was wrong too. Anyone else run into this split system thing in other cities, or did I just pick the one place that sucks at this?

Laugh at the app, pay double, then wonder if the metro even runs where you need to go. Classic travel tax, paid in cash and patience.
