TIL the hard way that Airbnb vs hostel isn't even a choice in Prague

I booked an Airbnb in Prague last spring for $65 a night thinking I was saving money over hostels. Big mistake. The place was a 30 minute tram ride from the center and the host cancelled on me the day I arrived. I ended up at a hostel called Hostel One Prague for $18 a night and it had free walking tours, breakfast, and a real community feel. The Airbnb was way more expensive per night and way less convenient. Has anyone else had a fake "budget" Airbnb wreck their travel plans?

Chill, one bad Airbnb doesn't prove hostels are always better.

Used to be team Airbnb all the way (convince me otherwise, right?) but one bad weekend with a host canceling last minute and I was singing hostels' praises.
