Tried booking a flight to Lisbon for a Tuesday instead of a Friday and saved almost $200.

I always booked flights for the weekend because I thought that was just the price. Last year I needed to go to Chicago for a work thing on a Wednesday. The same flight on the previous Saturday was over $300 more. Now I check every single trip, even short ones to Denver. Leaving on a Tuesday afternoon instead of Friday night has saved me so much money.

Booked a Tuesday flight to Nashville last year and saved enough to cover a nice dinner both nights I was there. @cora400 it's wild how much a day shift can open up your budget like that. Now I always try to fly out midweek if I can swing it.

Three hundred dollars more just for a Saturday flight is crazy. I would have made the same mistake and just paid it without checking. That's a whole hotel stay or a bunch of meals right there. It makes me wonder what else I'm overpaying for out of habit. I'm going to look at my next trip like a puzzle now.
