Wasted $80 on a 'city pass' that made things worse

Tbh I got that Go City pass for London thinking I'd save big. But after standing in line at the Tower of London for an hour because the pass line was actually slower than buying tickets direct? And then finding out half the 'free' attractions were things I'd never go to anyway. I checked the math after the trip - I paid $80 more than if I just booked things individually. Anyone else fall for those multi-attraction passes and regret it?

Oh come on, is $80 really that big a deal in the grand scheme of a London trip? Sounds like you learned a lesson, but these passes work fine if you actually check what you'll use before buying.

call it an $80 learning fee and move on. everyone who buys one of those passes without mapping out their exact itinerary first is asking for it. you get what you put into it, if you just buy it and go, of course you'll get burned. i've used them twice and came out ahead both times because i spent an hour before the trip planning which places i'd actually hit. the pass isn't the problem, it's people not reading the fine print and then blaming the product.
