Found $63 in my grocery budget just from freezing leftovers better

I started freezing my leftover chili and soup in single serving containers three weeks ago instead of letting them go bad in the fridge. Last night I checked and I've saved at least $63 by not tossing out half-eaten containers. Anyone else find a weird little habit that actually kept cash in your pocket?

What kind of meals are you prepping exactly? I used to think the same thing until I started tracking my grocery waste versus what I actually ate. After I started doing meal prep on Sundays, I cut my food costs by like 40 bucks a week just because I wasn't buying extra stuff that would rot in the fridge. It's not just about avoiding waste, it's about buying less stuff in the first place because you actually have a plan for everything. If you're just eating leftovers, that's not really prepping, that's just being smart with what you already have.
