Found out my grocery store's 'manager's special' meat is just stuff from the day before

I was chatting with a butcher at the Safeway on 4th Street last Tuesday. He told me they just re-label the unsold meat from the previous day with those yellow stickers. I've been buying it for years thinking it was some special deal. Saved about $30 this month just by asking for yesterday's cuts directly. Anyone else have a store trick like that?
