Found out our grocery budget was off by $140 a month

Turns out I was just casually adding up receipts wrong for 8 months. I finally sat down with a calculator and a whole stack of them from my desk drawer, and the real total was way higher than my estimate. Anyone else been shocked by actual numbers once they finally counted everything?

The $140 hit is rough but honestly the real kicker is realizing you've been lying to yourself for 8 months straight. I had a similar moment with my gas receipts and felt like such a clown. At least now you know the real number, that's the first step.
