Had to pick between fixing my car's AC for $1200 or just dealing with it for the summer in Austin.
I chose to tough it out with just the windows down and used the money I saved to finally pay off my last credit card, so what's your best tip for staying cool without AC?

My old shop used to sell those solar-powered car fans, and they actually work pretty well.

Read a review saying they're great for keeping pets cool in parked cars. Makes sense if the sun's out.

The angle I'd add is that they're really only effective if your car's interior is mostly dark. Those fans just circulate the hot air already trapped inside, they don't actually cool anything down. My neighbor left one running all summer and his dashboard still cracked from the heat.
