I finally hit my $500 emergency fund goal after a chat with my barista

Automatic transfers are a nice idea, but they don't work for everyone. My budget is too tight for even a small fixed amount, and an unexpected expense just wipes it out anyway. Hearing a feel-good story doesn't change the math when there's nothing left to save.
