I finally looked at my coffee shop receipts from last month
I was cleaning out my wallet and decided to add up all my coffee shop stops. I go to this place near my work in Tacoma maybe three times a week. I just assumed it was a small treat, maybe $5 each time. When I added it all up, I spent $78 last month just on coffee. That's almost a hundred bucks! I was really shocked because I don't feel like I'm spending that much. It's just a habit, you know? I grab one on the way to the office without thinking. Seeing the real number on paper made me stop. Has anyone else been surprised by how much a small daily habit actually costs over a month?

How did you track it, just the receipts? I did the same thing last year and it was a wake up call. What worked for me was setting a coffee budget in cash at the start of the week. Once the cash is gone, no more shop coffee. Makes you really think before you buy. Saved me a ton.

That cash budget idea from @tessap98 actually changed how I see my small buys.
