I think I've been saving for retirement all wrong and a coworker's story tipped me off
I always put money into my 401k without thinking about fees, but a guy named Dave from accounting showed me how he saved $12,000 over 10 years just by switching to a low-cost index fund. That made me check my own statements and I found a 1.5% fee eating up my gains. Has anyone else realized they were overpaying on investment fees?

Oh yeah, I feel personally attacked by that 1.5% fee because I basically handed my financial advisor a blank check for years. It's like paying extra for a fancy restaurant that just microwaves your food, you know? I switched to a simple index fund and suddenly my money started actually working for me instead of just paying some dude's boat payments.

@diana_flores25 I read that even small fee differences can cost tens of thousands over a career.
