I used to spend $400 a year on takeout lunches at work
For years I bought lunch almost every day at the cafe near my office in Nashville. I figured it was just a small convenience cost. Then I tracked my spending for three months and saw I was dropping around $35 a week on sandwiches and soup. Now I prep five lunches on Sunday for about $12 total and freeze them. Has anyone else had a big wake up call when they actually added up a daily habit?

Did you factor in the time spent going to get lunch each day and what you could do with that instead? Sometimes that hidden cost hits harder than the actual cash.

Wait, is that really worth chasing? I didn't see it that way before.
