I was paying $12 a month for a budgeting app I barely opened. My friend asked to see my phone and said 'you know your bank does this for free, right?'

Yeah but the bank's version is always clunky. I'd rather pay for something that actually works for me.

Sometimes you pay for the focus a separate app provides.

That "pay for the focus" thing is so true. I bought a simple note app just because it opens to a blank page with zero buttons. The free ones had folders and clouds and junk all over the screen. I just needed to write a grocery list without getting distracted.
