I was tracking every coffee but missing the big monthly hits

For years I wrote down every small buy, like my $4 latte. Then I looked at my bank statement from March and saw a $120 charge for a streaming service bundle I barely use. That one thing cost more than all my coffees that month. It hit me that I was focused on the drops but ignoring the bucket with a hole in it. Has anyone else had a single big expense that made them change their whole tracking method?

Man, that's so true for everything. We fix the leaky faucet but ignore the busted pipe in the wall.

Tracking subscriptions is a whole different beast than daily spending. They're silent budget killers that renew automatically. You gotta check for those once a quarter at least.
