My grocery bill went from $180 a week to $110 by switching stores
For years I shopped at the big chain near my house, and my weekly bill was always around $180 for my family of three. A month ago I started going to a discount grocery store a bit further away, and the same amount of food now costs about $110. I mean, the brands are different and you have to bag your own stuff, but the quality is basically the same. Has anyone else found a specific store that cut their costs this much?

That's a crazy difference for basically the same stuff. I mean, do you find yourself buying less junk or impulse stuff at the discount place, or is it literally just cheaper prices on your normal list? Maybe the bigger store just makes it too easy to grab extra things you don't need.

Honestly, it's both. The whole layout of those big stores feels designed to make you wander and grab stuff you didn't plan for. Tbh, I see it as a bigger life thing where less choice and a simpler setup actually helps you focus. Ngl, it's why I stick to my list and a smaller store now.
