My uncle's advice on saving 10% every paycheck finally clicked

Back in 2018, my uncle Bob kept telling me to just stash 10% of every paycheck into a separate account, no matter what. I thought he was being dramatic until I lost my job at a factory in Akron for 4 months last year. That little fund covered my rent and groceries without me touching a credit card once. Has anyone else had a simple savings rule like that actually work better than all those fancy budgeting apps?

Yeah man, that 10% rule is the real deal, way simpler than tracking every coffee purchase.

Tbh I used to think the 10% thing was just old school advice that didn't make sense anymore. I was all in on those budgeting apps and spreadsheets trying to track every dollar. Then I tried it for like three months and it was wild how fast it added up. @bailey.sam is right, it's way less stressful than nickel and diming yourself over coffee runs.
