I finally sat down to fix my old budget spreadsheet last Friday night. It was a mess of random tabs and formulas I didn't understand anymore. I figured I'd just clean it up and maybe add a new section for my car fund. That 'quick fix' turned into a 12 hour project over two days. I had to rebuild the whole thing from scratch because my old formulas for tracking grocery spending were broken. I kept finding errors, like one cell that was supposed to add my gas money but was actually subtracting it. I didn't finish until Sunday afternoon, and I ordered pizza because I was too tired to cook. Has anyone else had a simple budget update spiral into a huge time sink?
