Stumbled on a chart about how much the average person spends on coffee each year
I was just looking up something else on a personal finance blog, and I saw this little graph tucked in the corner. It said the average American spends over $1,100 a year on coffee. I had to read it twice. That's like, ninety bucks a month. I sat there and did the math on my own habit, which I thought was fine, just a couple fancy drinks a week. Turns out I was hitting about $60 a month easy. It's not a single big bill, so it just slips by. Finding that number really put it in focus for me. I'm trying to cut back to just home brews during the week now. Has anyone else had a small daily expense add up to a shocking total like that?

My friend tracked his lunch spending for a month and the total was more than his car payment.

That "small daily expense" thing is how they get you, it's the same with all the little subscriptions.
