Finally got my drawer slides perfectly flush after years of them being just a hair off
I started putting a tiny piece of blue painter's tape on the cabinet side before I mark the screw holes, and now my Blum slides sit exactly right every time, so what's your go-to trick for getting slides dead on?

Blue tape seems like extra work for a problem a good jig fixes. Honestly, just using a template from the hardware store gets them perfect without any marking. Why add a step that leaves glue residue?

Honestly, why would you trust a generic template over your own marks? Those jigs marymorgan mentioned never fit every single cabinet because the boxes are never perfect. The blue tape trick lets you see the exact spot and it peels off clean, no glue at all. A jig is just guessing for you, but the tape makes it exact for your specific kitchen. That little extra step saves me from having to fix a slide I put in the wrong place.
