I was dead wrong about pocket hole jigs for years

Always thought they were a gimmick for amateurs until I had to build 12 spice cabinets for a client in two weeks last spring. Borrowed a buddy's Kreg jig out of desperation. Cut my assembly time by half, joints are holding up fine. Still not using them for face frames but for interior stuff? Game changer. Anyone else have a tool they dismissed for years that turned out to actually be useful?

My dad swore by them for years and I totally ignored him. Finally gave in when I had to build a bunch of shelving units for a local restaurant and it saved my back, honestly. Not fancy but they get the job done for hidden work.

Honestly the "not fancy but they get the job done" part is exactly it. My dad used those cheap plastic corner clamps for years and I thought he was just being cheap. Then I tried setting up a bunch of closet organizers without them and had to redo half the shelves because they shifted while I was drilling. Picked up a pack of the basic ones the next day and it made everything line up perfect. Sometimes the simple stuff just works better than all the fancy new tools.
