Vent: The way people are scribing end panels is driving me nuts on job sites
I swear every other kitchen I walk into lately has scribe gaps you could stick a credit card through. I was on a job in Portland last week and the guy used a laser level but still left a 3/16 gap at the top of the panel. You need to mark your reveal first and then cut with a jigsaw tilted a little, not just eyeball it against the wall. Has anyone else been seeing this more often since everyone started rushing?

I saw a guy in a house in Beaverton last month leave a 1/4 inch gap on both sides of his end panel and called it "fine." He argued with me that caulk would fix it, but that's NOT scribing, that's just sloppy work hiding behind silicone. This trend of rushing through scribes and calling it done is getting worse every year.
