Finally got my dad to admit the moon landing footage looks weird
Three years ago at Thanksgiving in Cleveland, I showed him the flag 'waving' clip and he just scoffed. Last month, I brought up the crosshairs appearing behind objects in some shots. He finally paused and said, 'Okay, that one IS hard to explain.' It took showing him specific frame numbers from a 2019 documentary to get that reaction. I consider it a win because he's been a total skeptic of any 'space talk' my whole life. Anyone have a good resource for the crosshair thing to send him next?

That "total skeptic" line hits home. I see the same thing with my uncle about basically anything online. He'll dismiss a whole topic for years, then one tiny detail finally makes him go "huh." It's never the big picture that gets them, it's always some random technical glitch they can't explain away.

Oh man, exactly. I just stopped trying to win the whole argument. Found one little thing they actually care about and nudged that. Way less headache.
