I noticed a huge difference in bird activity after putting up a feeder last fall
I set up a simple tube feeder in my backyard last October, and for the first two months I barely saw any birds. Then around late December, I started getting goldfinches and chickadees showing up every morning. My neighbor told me it takes time for them to find a new food source, and now I've got at least a dozen birds coming daily. Has anyone else seen a delay like this when they switch feeder types or move locations?

Hang on, are we really overanalyzing bird feeder timing like it's some kind of wildlife documentary? You put out food, birds eventually figure it out, end of story. They probably just needed a month or two to notice your yard wasn't a trap. Seems like that's how it goes with any bird feeder, no big mystery there.
