Rant: I watched a flat earth documentary from 2010 and then one from 2023 and the arguments are totally different now.
The old one was all about NASA fakery and the horizon, but the new one my friend showed me is focused on 'energy frequencies' and a dome, which feels like a huge shift in the last decade.

Best thing you can do is just ask them one simple testable claim. @christopherwilliams is right, once it goes to "vibes" there's nothing to grab onto.

Used to think it was all just silly old arguments that never changed. Watching those two docs back to back really shows how the goalposts move when facts don't fit. The switch to vague "energy" stuff feels like a retreat into something you can't really test. Makes the whole thing seem even less about truth and more about just believing something different.

Yeah, exactly. I hit that same wall, @julia_fisher28. When things get too fuzzy to check, it stops being a real debate. You're just left with a feeling they don't want to be wrong more than they want to know what's true.

Ha! Guilty as charged. I used to think I was too smart to fall for that stuff, then I caught myself defending a "vibe" theory last week. Oof.
