Rant: My neighbor insists Area 51 is a weather station and it drives me nuts

So last week at the backyard fence, my neighbor Mike starts going off about how the whole 'aliens and ufos' thing at Area 51 is just a cover for a giant weather research center. He says all the secrecy is to protect 'atmospheric data gathering technology.' I told him I read the declassified CIA docs about the U-2 and OXCART programs and he just laughed. Said those are fake too. I offered to show him the Freedom of Information Act releases and he said the government prints whatever lies they want. How do you even argue with someone who thinks official records are just more conspiracy? Has anyone else run into this 'weather station' theory and actually got through to the person?

So did he actually say what the weather tech was supposed to be?

Used to roll my eyes at the whole "weather tech" thing, figured it was just buzzwords for a premium trim package. But hearing him walk through the actual vapor barrier and drainage channel design, it clicked for me. The way he broke down how moisture gets trapped behind the plastic panels and causes rust, that changed my mind completely. It's way more specific than I gave it credit for, basically a total rethink of how water moves through the car.
