Stopped by the old UFO museum in Roswell and the whole vibe felt different

They used to have all the old crash site photos and witness quotes, but now half the gift shop is just alien plush toys and t-shirts. It got me thinking about how these stories get turned into something you can sell. Has anyone else seen a place like that change over the years?

Ever wonder if the truth just got too boring to sell?

My local diner used to have real photos of the town founders. Now it's just generic "Live, Laugh, Love" signs for sale. Same thing happened to that historic lighthouse gift shop. Everything becomes a cheap souvenir once enough tourists show up. The original story just fades into the background.

Wait, those photos at the diner probably weren't the actual town founders. Most of those old black and white pictures you see hanging on walls are just stock images or random historical photos someone bought at a yard sale. I looked into it once when my own town put up a "historic" display at the library, and the curator admitted half the faces were pulled from a generic archive. The real founders usually have their photos locked away in the historical society or some family's attic. So the "Live, Laugh, Love" signs might actually be replacing something that was never truly authentic in the first place.
