The moment I caught myself falling for a fake moon landing 'proof' video on YouTube

I was totally convinced by this video showing weird shadows on lunar rocks, and I spent like 3 hours down a rabbit hole trying to prove the whole thing was staged. Then I noticed the video was using footage from a 1970s sci-fi movie clip that someone spliced in. That was in 2019 during a late night session, and it hit me that I'd been trusting random internet sources without fact checking. I felt stupid because I usually pride myself on digging into stuff, but this one got me good. Now I always check the original NASA archives for any shadow claims before I buy into them. Has anyone else gotten duped by a slickly edited conspiracy video that turned out to be fake?

Oh man, @the_miles, you're asking the real questions here lol. I mean, I once spent 45 minutes trying to decide if a slightly dented box of cereal was worth the 30 cent discount, so maybe I'm not the best judge of what's a big deal or not. But honestly, I think it just depends on how much it messes with your daily routine or peace of mind. For me, it's usually the small stuff that snowballs into something bigger, but I'm also the type who loses it when my phone battery hits 15% so take that with a grain of salt.
