Why I stopped believing the moon landing was faked after visiting the Johnson Space Center
I used to be pretty sure the whole thing was a hoax. Then I went to Houston last spring and saw the actual Apollo command modules up close. The heat shield alone has this deep black char that looked way too real to be a movie prop. My buddy who works there walked me through the telemetry data log books from 1969, and all the numbers lined up with what they say. Has anyone else changed their mind after seeing something in person that made them doubt their old theory?

Way too real to be a movie prop" - you do know real movies use real heat shield material sometimes, right? I'm not buying the whole thing is a hoax, but let's not pretend seeing charred metal is some slam dunk proof.

The "real movies use real heat shield material" argument kinda falls apart when you look at how that char actually forms, it's a specific pattern from re-entry plasma that movie prop departments can't replicate even if they wanted to.
