Crooked carrots from my Columbus plot made me flip on homegrown

I spent 3 years buying perfect supermarket carrots and rolling my eyes at people bragging about their twisted roots. Then my raised bed in Columbus produced these gnarled, forked monsters that looked like alien fingers, and I roasted one on a whim. The sweetness and crunch blew away anything from Kroger, and now I actually hunt for the ugly ones in my harvest. Anyone else find their taste buds changed once they grew their own misshapen veggies?

Wait till you pickle those crooked ones, they crunch way better than store-bought.
