My zucchini plant grew a perfect spiral, still tasted like normal zucchini

I had this one zucchini plant that went crazy sideways last week, like it decided to grow into a corkscrew shape around the tomato cage. I almost pulled it out because it looked so stupid, but my neighbor said to let it go and see what happens. The fruit itself came out twisted and lumpy, looked like a green pretzel honestly. Cut it open expecting it to be woody or something, but it was totally fine, maybe even sweeter than the straight ones. I grilled it with olive oil and salt and it disappeared in like five minutes. Has anyone else had a plant that looked terrible but produced some of the best stuff you've eaten all season?
