PSA: I used to think twisted carrots were worthless until I weighed one at 8 ounces and it tasted way sweeter than the straight ones from the store
My neighbor Deb showed me a YouTube video from some farmer in Oregon who said bent or forked carrots actually pack more sugar because the plant stores extra energy trying to fix the shape, and after peeling that ugly 8-ouncer I'm never tossing a wonky root again - anyone else notice the ugly ones taste better?

Deb you just changed my whole outlook on carrots with that farmer video tip. I've always grabbed the perfect straight ones without thinking and probably missed out on a ton of sweetness over the years. Grateful you shared this because now I'll be hunting down the ugly ones on purpose.
