The twisted carrot problem is getting out of hand this season

I pulled 14 carrots out of my raised bed on Saturday and 11 of them looked like they were trying to spell something in cursive. They tasted fine shredded into salad, but I keep seeing posts here where folks toss their weird ones straight into compost. Am I the only one who thinks ugly roots are the best part of growing your own, or is everyone else actually after the perfect grocery store look?
