Had to pick between a coworking space and a café in Lisbon last month

I went with the coworking space because the café had spotty wifi and I needed to be on a 2-hour video call, but honestly the silence in the coworking space was kinda lonely. Anyone else feel like you lose the creative buzz when you're not around random chatter and espresso machines?

oh man i totally get that. i was in lisbon last fall too and ended up bouncing between a few spots. i found this place called Base in alvalade that had a nice mix - they had a quiet zone for calls but also this big open area with a coffee bar and people just chatting. so i'd take my calls in the quiet part then camp out in the noisy part after, got the best of both worlds. maybe look for a spot with separate zones next time, felt way less lonely than the dead silent coworking room.

yeah @ninasanchez i hear that. i tried Base last time i was in lisbon too and i get what you're saying about the zones. but for me the quiet zone was full of people on calls anyway, so not really quiet. ended up having to take a call in the hallway. did you have a better experience with the separate zones actually working? cause that sounds great in theory but in practice every place i've been to the zones are just suggestions.
