Hit my first $5k month as a nomad and it felt weirdly small
I've been bouncing around Southeast Asia for about 8 months now, doing freelance writing and some basic web work. Last month I finally cracked $5,000 in earnings, which was this big goal I set when I started. But here's the thing that surprised me - hitting that number didn't feel like some huge victory. I was in this hostel in Chiang Mai when the payment hit my account, and I just sat there for a minute thinking "okay, cool, now what?". The real milestone turned out to be realizing $5k goes a looong way in Thailand but would barely cover rent back home in Portland. It made me rethink all my money goals and what I'm actually working toward out here. Has anyone else hit a number they thought would be life changing but it just felt... normal?
