My worst nomad day was in Chiang Mai last month, here's the mess

I woke up at 6am to a massive thunderstorm that knocked out my hostel's wifi for the whole day. I had a client call at 9am, so I grabbed my laptop and ran to a cafe 15 minutes away, only to find it packed with other stranded nomads. I paid 300 baht for a crappy breakfast and a table near one weak outlet, then my Zoom froze every 90 seconds during the call. By 2pm I gave up, went back to my room, and read a book until the rain stopped. Has anyone else had a single weather event totally wreck their work schedule, or do you just plan backup spots ahead of time?
