The moment I realized my "unlimited" WiFi plan was a lie - 3 months in Bali taught me the hard way
I moved to Canggu thinking I could just hotspot my way through video calls. First 2 weeks were fine. Then I hit some invisible data cap at 50GB and my speed dropped to dial-up levels. Lost a client call with a guy from Sydney because my Zoom kept freezing. That's when a local cafe owner told me Indonesian carriers throttle prepaid after certain limits, even on "unlimited" plans. Switched to a local fiber plan at my villa for $30 a month and never looked back. Anyone else figure out data limits the hard way somewhere overseas?

30 bucks a month beats realizing the catch on those "unlimited" plans for sure.

Wait, so those "unlimited" plans really do have secret limits? I used to think it was fine but you changed my mind.
