TIL my visa run in Chiang Mai turned into a 3-day ordeal
I needed a new 60-day tourist visa and figured the border hop to Laos would be a quick overnight trip, but the consulate in Vientiane had a sudden system outage. It ended up taking three full days of waiting in lines and finding last-minute guesthouses before I got my passport back. Has anyone else had a simple admin task blow up like that recently?

Oh man, that sounds about right. My last visa run felt like a test of patience I didn't study for. I once spent a whole day at an immigration office because they decided my photo background wasn't the right shade of white. It's like they see your plans and just laugh.

Tell me about it. I got held up once because my passport photo made me look "too happy" for official use. They really do treat every single rule like it's life or death.
