Tried co-working spaces vs coffee shops for 3 months straight, one is way better

So I did this little experiment back in January. Spent 6 weeks working from coffee shops around Chiang Mai, then 6 weeks at a proper co-working spot called Punspace. Coffee shops seemed cheaper at first, like $3 for a latte vs $150 a month for a desk. But I ended up buying 2 or 3 drinks plus snacks just to justify sitting there for 4 hours. That added up to like $12 a day easy. Co-working was $5 a day and I could bring my own food. Plus the wifi at coffee shops would crap out every time a tourist walked in with a laptop. Has anyone else made the switch and noticed a big difference in productivity?

Had a buddy who tried the same thing in Bangkok. He said he got kicked out of a Starbucks once for taking a work call too loud, then the next week the same barista gave him a free pastry when she saw him stress-eating over a deadline. Wild how different every spot can be.

Right? Somehow that makes perfect sense though (like, weirdly poetic).
