Warning: Co-working memberships with fake 'unlimited' internet

I noticed a lot of people in Bali signing up for these cheap co-working spaces that PROMISE 100mbps speeds but actually throttle you after you download one file over 2GB. Last week my entire Zoom client call froze because the place I picked in Canggu capped me at 5mbps after noon. Has anyone else tested their actual upload speeds at these spots before buying a month pass?

Tested a few places in Ubud and honestly the "100mbps" claim is usually a joke even before noon. Your mileage may vary but most of these spots share one fiber connection across 50 people working on video calls at the same time so it never hits those speeds in real life.

Ugh, diana_flores25 you literally said "one fiber connection across 50 people working on video calls" and that is exactly what's happening to me right now at this place in Seminyak. I signed up for a month pass based on their "100mbps" sign and now I'm stuck getting 3mbps after 11am every single day. It's so frustrating because they know exactly what they're doing - they hook you with the speed test at signup and then throttle everyone once the pass is paid for. I've started leaving bad reviews on Google maps with my actual speed test screenshots because this fake unlimited internet thing is a real scam people need to watch out for in Bali. Next time I'm paying daily rates first to test the speeds during peak hours before committing to anything longer.
