After 2 years of avoiding it I finally patched that hole in my drywall last weekend
Spent 4 hours on a 6 inch hole because I kept watching videos instead of just mixing the mud and doing it, anyone else freeze up on simple drywall repairs for way too long?

Buddy of mine spent a whole weekend watching drywall videos and never even bought the mud.

Oh man, watching videos totally makes it worse though! I actually think overthinking drywall repairs is kind of smart because you can really mess things up if you rush in without knowing what you're doing. Last time I tried to just wing it on a corner patch, the mud crumbled out after a week and I had to redo the whole thing anyway. Taking those extra hours to watch tutorials probably saved you from making a bigger mess (and more trips to the hardware store) than necessary.
