Caught a leak behind my bathroom vanity at 11pm last night, fixed it with a $3 part from the hardware store this morning
Was brushing my teeth around midnight and heard a drip. Pulled everything out from under the sink and found a slow drip where the supply line connects to the shutoff valve. The little rubber washer inside was totally flattened. Ran to Ace this morning before work, got a new washer for $2.87, swapped it in 10 minutes. No more drip. Such a relief not having to call a plumber and pay $150 for a washer swap. Anyone else keep finding weird little problems late at night?

Honestly, finding a leak at midnight sounds like a personal horror movie. I once found a tiny puddle behind my toilet at 2am and spent an hour panicking it was the wax ring, but nope, just a loose nut on the supply line. Tightened it with a wrench I grabbed from my car, and it was fine. Ngl, my proudest late-night fix was when I used a clothes hanger and some duct tape to rig the handle back on my front door at 1am.

Wait, you actually keep a wrench in your car just for stuff like that?
