My bathroom reno hit a pipe I didn't know was there
I was demoing a wall in my hall bathroom last Saturday to put in a new vanity. About two hours in my hammer drill pops through the tile and I hear water hissing. Turns out there was a old copper supply line running vertical right where I was cutting. I shut the main off quick but not before it soaked half the drywall in the laundry room next door. Had to call a plumber at 5pm on a Saturday which cost me $175 just for the visit plus patching the line. Now I'm three weeks behind and my wife keeps asking when she'll get her sink back. Anyone else ever hit a hidden pipe and have to redo their whole plan?

Honestly I feel like people freak out too much about hitting a pipe. Yeah it sucks but you shut the water off quick, called a plumber, and it's fixed now right. So you're out a couple hundred bucks and a weekend, not exactly the end of the world.
