My neighbor's comment about my gutters made me rethink everything

Last Saturday my neighbor Bill walked over while I was cleaning leaves out of my gutters for the third time this fall. He just said 'you know those guards are actually making things worse, right?' and walked away. I spent like 30 minutes just staring at my roof thinking about it. He had a point - those cheap mesh guards I put up 2 years ago are trapping debris on top instead of letting it wash through. Now I'm looking at replacing them with a solid cover system that actually works with heavy rain. Has anyone here had luck with a specific gutter guard that doesn't clog up after a few months?

Buddy of mine put LeafFilter on and hasn't touched his gutters since.

Bet he saved a ton of time not cleaning them every fall.
